The Peter Shaw ALS Fundraiser Dance was a huge success, generating over $70,000. ----- One of our own Innerkip Men's League players needs our help. Peter Shaw has played in the Sunday Men's League at Innerkip Highlands since its inception. This spring, Peter was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS is a progressive neuromuscular disease in which nerve cells die and leave voluntary muscles Peter's golfing days are over. Now he is in a fight for his life. Peter's wishes are to be at home with his wife, Kathy, and children, McKenzie (16) and Sam (12) during this time. In order to meet Peter's wishes and needs, the home must be renovated to become wheelchair accessible and ultimately disabled-friendly. These costs, along with the homecare that will be required will be very difficult financially. So we are asking for your help with the financial burden of this horrific disease. The Peter Shaw ALS Fundraiser Dance is being held on Saturday February 11, 2012 from 7:30 PM to 1:00 AM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 333 Speedville Rd. Cambridge. There will be a DJ, live entertainement, silent auction, midnight buffet and games to raise funds. If you are in a position to help, it would be greatly appreciated.
